About
A wartime school of identity in Christ.
The aim
The ultimate goal of King Defense is a place where men are brought to the feet of Christ—a place where the real camaraderie of Christ gets into the hearts and souls of men.
The ultimate goal is a King Defense building that brings men to the feet of Christ—a place where the real camaraderie of Christ permeates the hearts of men, lighting little fires of true identity that change families, neighborhoods, counties, states, and as far as God sends it, to His glory.
What this is — and is not
We are an independent, non-denominational men's ministry based in Wimberley, Hays County, Texas. We are not a church or a church plant. We are a discipleship brotherhood, not a security or self-defense organization.
The war is real, but the fight is not against flesh and blood. Our weapons stay spiritual: the Word of God, prayer, truth and obedience to Christ. We are not a militia, political organization or defense-training program.
Identity is received from the King, not performed. A man's work, history, politics, possessions or strength do not get the final word over his name. Christ does. Only Jesus is King; we call one another brother.
The first field
The first field is a five-to-ten-mile ring around the future Wimberley Valley building. Men from different churches will share a roof, open Scripture, drop false names and lead one another to Christ. Their pastors will carry one another in the same way.
The first building is the first fire. The long-term vision is for the same fire to be lit in another town, and another, as God leads. One changed life can reach a family, a circle of friends, a neighborhood and beyond. This is a vision of multiplication, not a claim that other locations already exist.
What winning looks like
Men who know brothers from another church. Pastors who pray for each other's churches by name. Men who come for the gym and are led to Christ. A valley where a man does not have to join a new thing to be known. These are our aims, not outcomes we are claiming to have achieved.
